Liminality Media was founded by Jackson Cummings for the sole purpose of helping Christian actors effectively walk in the calling and passion that the Lord has placed on their hearts.
After finding a love for acting over a decade ago, Jackson's plans were to move to Hollywood to pursue this new passion. Instead, God called him to attend a Bible school in Austria and Jackson followed His calling. During his time there, the Lord ignited a passion in him for teaching His Word and discipling believers. He assumed that God was steering him away from this dream of being in the film world when He then called him to attend Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon to study Bible and Theology as well as Pastoral Ministry when, in reality, God was saying "not yet". Towards the end of his time there, the Lord started bringing people into his life to remind him of this passion for acting and filmmaking.
God then took him overseas yet again to a Christian Leadership program located in Mijas, Spain where He continued to work on Jackson's heart, take him through healing, and speak life and identity into the depths of his soul. It was only after the nine month program that the Lord made it clear to Jackson that the time was now to pursue his passion and calling into filmmaking.
After sitting with the Lord, Jackson felt a burning in his heart to revolutionize the film industry from the inside out in three specific ways: 1) Tell real, raw stories that create a liminal space for the audience so that they feel seen, understood, and walk into a new world full of more hope, life, and Christ; 2) Cultivate a liminal space on set where he and his team can pour into the cast and crew and bring Christ on set so they walk into a new world full of more hope, life, and Christ; and 3) Partner with Christian actors to aid in their calling and passion in order to have them see success for both their personal benefit and calling but also to bring Christ onto sets around the world and bring light to the darkest corners of the industry through Christ in them.
